The way I feel, the way I live, the way I dress—is all a combination of beautiful pictures, telling a beautiful story. I feel blessed to be a 24-hour artist. My work is my life and my life is my work. Art for me is a musical box full of colors, flowers, butterflies, fairies and smiling characters. Life is a world of dolls, beads, glitters and beautiful Christmas decorations. No fear nor limits exist while I am doing art. Oil pastels, acrylics, glitters, embellishments, trims, clay, brushes and my hands dance together in beautiful harmony. Usually a sad song playing in the background will bring out the happiest works of art. Inspiration comes from other artists' work, craft magazines, vintage images, dolls in all their forms and materials, fabrics and buttons, but mostly from my imagination and feelings. In my mixed media, I combine quotes from books, everyday life and the articles from "The UN Children's Rights Declaration" to give my audience words and images with thought-provoking messages. My medium of self-expression varies depending on what needs to be said. It could be through creating a small clay cupcake that I saw in a craft magazine or a painting a series of large canvasses depicting the joy of motherhood, sisterhood and female friendship. The purpose of my art is a non-stop search to create, to express, to give and to help. Two years ago, in a desperate attempt to help my father and brother, who were both fighting cancer, I started to paint to raise money to help them. "Because I cannot hold your hand, because I cannot ease your pain, I sit down and paint..." I was thousands of miles away from them. Painting saved me from falling apart. This personal tragedy became my blessed career, and now, through my art I continue to help other families. Giving became the meaning of my art and my life. From each painting commission, 5% goes to Canadian Children's Foundations such as ChildFind and Make A Wish. "Help me make this world a better place for our children” is the motto of my art. I feel blessed to be an artist. Everyday is a new creation.
